WHAT MAKEUP REALLY IS?!

Many people have different perceptions about makeup  and also who should and should not wear makeup and to what extent they should go just so they can wear makeup. The most confused gender on what makeup really is and why it should even exist in the first place is definitely the male. Now this article is going to define makeup and give some insights into what it actually does and the use. As the saying goes, whatever has an advantage has got a disadvantage.
Makeup are cosmetics (colourants and substances) applied to the skin to improve appearance. It is simply used to "improve appearance" and more complicatedly, makeup can be used to change a person completely by giving some special features and also special effects that make you appear different and these are usually "fake" but appear very real except on close examination.
Alot of people especially guys are of the opinion that women do not need makeup to look beautiful and that we overdo it sometimes, and yeah what has an advantage does have a disadvantage too. Well, speaking for myself and alot of ladies out there who i am sure would agree with me, makeup is quite important to enhance our beauty, we are beautiful with or without it. I believe women that use makeup often should also make sure that when the take it all off, they do not end up looking like a different person entirely so as not to scare guys away and make them have the believe that we are hiding alot of secrets underneath our makeup. Skin care routines especially for facial skin should therefore be adopted by women who love using makeup, this could also provide a good foundation for makeup application.
Makeup shouldn't be a thing to abhor, neither should it be abused. You can either go mild, or be creative with it and that's fun. Women have the right to explore and create whatever kind of look they want on their face as long as they know exactly what they are doing it for, creativity. There are different kinds of makeup for different occasions, so before you go all out with your makeup, ensure you are not overdoing it for that event or outing so you look nice. And guys, never assume a girl is ugly underneath her makeup, it is there for a reason, and yes, makeup or no makeup, women can look beautiful!

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO IN COMMEMORATION OF HIS TWO YEAR'S IN OFFICE ANNIVERSARY

Title: YOUR MISGIVINGS ARE OBVIOUSLY EMBARRASSING AND TOO INEXCUSABLE TO BE TAKEN AS FORGIVABLE MISTAKES NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU STAY IN OFFICE.
By: Abdulmalik Hadi Adinoyi (Irimi)
adinoyiokus@gmail.com/07082262365.

Your excellency sir, with due respect I will like to bring you greetings and pleasantries as a matter of social and cultural practices, not a consent  to it as a civic responsibility by the virtue of your office . Ordinarily, with my native sense of respect as a virtue and should I want to approach you in that regard,  you are obviously just too unworthy of it because a man who has no respect for the feelings of thousands of persons upon whose collective existence he exercises an authority do not own a place in history, therefore,  I am afraid of where then my encounter with you may be placed.

In few days time, precisely on the 27th of January ,2018, you will be marking your 2nd year in office anniversary  as the 4th executive governor of Kogi state. I therefore wish to seize the opportunity of this sober reflecting occasion to once again write to you on what i think of your led government so far for 2 years having gotten to the mid-term of the first mandate that you were given by the People of Kogi state. However the circumstances surrounding your emergance sir , we can not deny the fact that you are occupying your present position through the consent of Kogi state people.  Each time you have reason to take us down Memory Lane on how you started your journey, It gets me sober remembering the death of our own Prince of the Niger, Late Prince Abubakar Audu who aside having put in place several living legacies even after his demise but also made the sacrifice for the change of Political party in charge of the affairs of Kogi  state and therefore paved way for the ensurance of your mandate as decreed by God Almighty. We pray he continue to rest in peace while we are optimistic that as a merciful God, His shortcomings will be forgiven.

This time your excellency,  I shall majorly be getting concerned and writing to you about your score card in governance and politics for these past two years. I have chosen to convey this to you prior before the date of the anniversary because on that day, merriments and programmes lined up for the ceremony may likely not make you to have spare time to get bothered about giving audience to any correspondence even as you have promised us that the celebration this time around shall be on low Key through your clueless, misleading and heartless Director General of Media and Publicity, "Evangelist" Kingsley Fanwo who is a frontier of your mismanaged media public outreach that has dented your image and at one time or the other caused Kogi State obvious National Embarrassment.

Your excellency, the intention behind  writing this letter is not to attack the personality of any individual through false stories because I am conscious of the power of Karma, but rather, my concern is to avoid keeping quiet while several abnormalities takes place in my own state as it will be a very big shame not to have explanations to give to the younger generations if eventually am challenged on my roles toward speaking out while all these were going on.  I am not a politician at least at the moment neither am I an apologist of any politician.  In fact, during the periods that I thought it wise to give you benefit of doubt with the hope that things will get better , I can vividly remember and have records of my publications where I tried to plead and enjoin the people of Kogi State to exercise patience with your government even in the face of sufferings. I applauded and felt relieved  by your decision to reshulf your cabinet by inter changing some of the serving commissioners in your cabinet among ministries and appointment of new ones to fill the vacant  spaces of any of the appointees who eventually will get sacked by this ending January if found not productive to the realization of your not too clear, doubtful, uninteresting and unpopular agenda. So therefore, I hope when this gets to you if given chance, you will know and understand that my stand is of no political interest  neither is it a product of hatred for you and your led government .

Let me also state categorically that,  the need for this piece to be accommodated objectively is not a plead to you alone but also to the docile, intellectually starved and deceitful aides you have around helping to assume the responsibilities of your activities as designated to them by the virtue of the various positions that they hold.

Now, enough of explanatory analysis to avoid justification of any likely claim later that I am being sponsored by any one to paint your government bad if eventually as usual such comes up from any angle.

Your excellency, there are certain circumstances that surrounds the business of governance in every political settings be it a community, local government area, State or at most a Nation. Recognising these peculiarities will definitely lay a very good foundation for any serious minded and responsible government as it will help point out the needs of the masses with emphasis in preferencial order.  Your excellency, If I must be honest with you, I think in this area you failed and that is why even with your severally expressed good intention towards the people of Kogi State, everyday you seem to be compounding our problems as a state and then bringing embarrassment upon your self which is capable of blocking your chances in future National Politics. It is a common sense  that before venturing into vying any position of authority, it is necessary or better put, mandatory for one to have an in depth knowledge of the responsibilities attached to such offices and as well have plans with which you intend to get things right if eventually enthrusted with the mantle of leadership. With your obvious failure to put this into consideration, I must also tell you that has become obvious and it is really telling a lot of damages or set backs in our collective existence and journey towards a prosperous economic status as a state. You wouldn't deny the very fact that even if for a very long time you have felt bad about the hardship faced by the people of Kogi State before your coming on board , your candidacy at every stage was sudden, unorganised, desperational and thus was too confrontational. It is more of recognising and utilizing an opportunity to get on board, though this is not without destiny and will of God Almighty.

Sometimes ago however your excellency, I did stated that humanly speaking, it is too unfortunate that this is the part God Almighty has destined you to take charge of in the history of Kogi state considering the economic and political realities  of things before, during and obviously most regrettably after your reign no matter how long you may stay in office. I am always careful when it comes to deciding what will become of you if eventually you finally choose to join the race to seek relection for the position of Kogi State Governor in 2019, this is because the ultimate choice of those who are chosen as leaders is of God Almighty especially as revealed in the circumstances surrounding your present mandate and several other occasions at different times in one place or the other.  Frankly speaking, we can not bank on this to kick out the fact that the masses play great roles in deciding who leads them becuse even the will of God Almighty still manifest through human efforts and also that the voice of the people is the voice of God.  Summarily in this regard, your eventual experience come 2019 is not what my concern is and that is why I always emphasis in saying that "no matter how long you stay in office " because I know aside from the constitutional dictations on the number of terms one can serve as a state governor, I am also aware that nothing last forever not even the life that we all live.

First among the realistic economic pecularity of Kogi State is that, the major drive of our economy is the civil service. Kogi state has larger proportion of her citizens earning their income through salary payment as civil servants. The implication of this is that, the survival of every home in food provision and other bills of many are attended to by salary payment.  Even private firms, market women and other organizations providing services for human comforts as a means of employment depends so heavily on the financial viability of civil servants.

In this regard, a people oriented and responsible government in Kogi should not for any reason play with or mishandle the payment of salary  for whatever reason. Regrettably your excellency, not minding the Nationwide problem of non salary payment, the stage at which it is being experience in Kogi state is not only terrible but better put as horrible.

I reckon with your popular saying in your early days in office that your government shall not be a government that will be interested in paying salaries alone . But we never knew it was going to get to this level. I personally thouht the pronouncement of that plan is banked on a workable or confirmed means of alternative in sourcing for funds to invest heavily in infrastructural development in the state.  Again, your decision to launch or go into staff verification exercise was not a bad idea at all as it was obvious to quite a number of persons that there are group of persons who are on government pay roll and they are neither duly employed civil servants nor a committed to duty ones who even rarely have idea of the schedule of activities taking place in the very ministry they are fixed in at both the state and local government area levels. This decision was a laudable one but the turn out of events as I have always said has embarrasingly kept one at mute as to if we knew things will turn out this way, such decision should have been taken and executed by an administration sphereheded by people of deep knowledge in public administration and high level of intelligence in the area of approaching issues brilliantly through means that it will cause if unavoidable but very minimal pain and hardship on the masses.

Your excellency, if it might interest you to know sir, in the process of the screening or staff verification exercise, many lives were lost either through accidents, heart attacks, suicide, incapability of civil servants to take care of their hospital bills or purchase drugs for themsleves or their relatives who they are by circumstances in charge of taking care of or handling their responsibilities, and further more your excellency, there are also cases where parents could not afford to pay the tuition fees of their wards and in most cases they were withdrawn, the highest chance of remedy in this aspect was the manged trust, respect and consideration given to some parents to write undertaking that they shall offset their debts at specific periods when things gets better financially.

The staff verification exercise If we must be truthful to ourselves actually helped to reveal a lot of rots and sharp practices in Kogi state civil service . But the question that we may not be able to answer is what will happen to those who lost their lives and those whose life plans were cut short by this situation making them to miss many life changing opportunities or open doors of fortunes probably,  this question is akin to the question to the one you asked kogi State University lecturers who were on strike during your maiden official visit to the school  sometimes in July, 2017.

Your excellency sir, permit me to say that, government exist most primarily to help profer solutions to our collective challenges as a people binded together by peculiar territorial identity,  therefore, at all times, a responsible government must be careful enough not to allow it's decision to have unredemable effects on the masses regardless of the gains that the such decision will fetch us.  I am not saying the staff verification exercise shouldn't have been ventured into, and I am also not disputing the fact that there are hundreds of persons who are guilty of one offence or the other but out of shame can not confess the true status of their screening result and thus have resulted into chanting the anthem of no salary payment. But not minding this sir, we are aware of persons who by virtue of the screening exercise are cleared and authenticated as duly employed and valid civil servants in the state but are denied of their entitlements. This is where the concern lies.

As a people, we have not been able to conceive the thought of any possible reason why salary payment should be an issue in Kogi State considering the known release of funds of different kinds into the state. From the two trench of bail out funds courtesy of the magnanimity of President Muhammad Buhari in view of the peculiarity of the problem of salary payment in all the states of the federation. Soon later, to complement or orgument this initial gesture, there were three phase of Paris Club Refund into the state. Monthly allocations which is of statutory right for every state from the Federation account is aware of and to cap it all,  we are also aware of increase in our Internally Generated Revenue.  At a time news also had it that a certain bill bond loan granted to Kogi State government by World Bank as applied by the Captain Idris Wada's administration was released. This loan as we learnt was for the completion of the embarkment project going on at the old market/Kabawa vicinity to reduce or avoid future reoccurence of the heavy destruction of lives and properties caused by Flood, completion of the One Bedroom Flat estate which atleast was at 70% completion before the end of Captain Wads's exit from office, as heard, the loan also was to be used to work on the abandoned Kogi Hotel Project opposite Kogi state government house.

A break from the above sir,  a puzling question that we have also not been able to answer is that,  since the staff verification exercise lead to the withdrawal of many persons from the pay roll of government, shouldn't it be a better avenue to have enough savings to enable prompt payment of salaries? I want to agree as most likely and as you have said severally that you met on ground debts of borrowing and loans, but it's not just possible to have an excuse to why authenticated or valid civil servants in the state should be owed for many months ranging from 5, 8 and some for more than a year.  To worsen this situation your excellency sir, I do not know if it was a miscalculated thought or fear of query that lead to your declaration on National Television while on a visit to President Mohammed buhari that all salary arrears has been cleared in Kogi state, no one is owed a dime in Kogi State and that as a matter of fact you have to go as far as making a borrow of Ten Billion Naira to orgument what was on ground to attend to the alleged cleared outstanding salaries . This is is not only embarrassing but I consider it an insult to the intelligence of all us as a people in Kogi State. For the benefit of doubt your excellency, let us assume that as it is always said, it is he who wear the shoe that knows where it pinches, if you feel there are complicated issues that is making it impossible for you to attend to your responsibilities, there will be nothing or decision wiser than to speak out to the masses in the language that they will understand and not fabricated lies and cosmetic presentations as usually done by your hungry and intellectually starved media handlers . One fact we can't dispute is that, you told a white lie on your claim that all salaries has been cleared in Kogi state. On the account that you are doubtful of my claim, you can conduct a feasibility studies among civil servants in all the ministries and Kogi owned parastatals.

Aside from the non payment of Salary sir, one other way that your led government has gotten it wrong to me is the manner in which you handle labour related matters. In this regard, most a times you tend to exercise extreme political power than authority to attend to the agitations of workers who at various times in one way or the other has resulted into embarking on industrial action to drive home their demand for deserving regard for the work that they are doing for the state most especially in the area of finance and government interference on internal administrative control of their affairs. I don't know how comfortable you are to know that the submission of these persons are true and you have chosen to tell lies against them by describing them as sponsored opposition to your government and as such always result into intimidating them with your usual exercising of extreme political power over your constitutional authority in situations such like this. I am convinced you lack the negotiation strenght with union leadership and that is why most a times government meeting with any aggrieved trade union is conveyed by either your chief of staff,  secretary to the state government or of recent your afternoon new founded politically desperate ally,  Senator Smart Adeyemi. To me your excellency, this is not only unhealthy but administratively too pourous of you.  You will agree with me that the honor of meeting with these unions at any moment of grievances is enough to make them have confidence in you to give a reconsideration to their stand and understand with your offers and plead. Most of these persons you delegate to meet with union leaders sometimes do not only embarrass labour leaders but even go as far as ridiculing them with the believe that government has all it takes to find its way out of any trouble.

When it comes to making promises your excellency , following it up or matching it with actions is always a problem, for example,  it's  been over six months that you promised to pay bursary to Kogi state impoverished students which you even compounded by your 200% increament but regrettably up till this time nothing realitistic has been heard in that regard. These Students wake up everyday, instead of praying for you, they justifiably result into shouring courses on you for denying them of their rights. Your excellency, the young shall grow and your story of being a child of nobody can be better understood and believed when you get concerned about taking steps to attend to the needs of these students who are technically trained in their respective fields to be of economic value to the growth and development of the state and nation at large. One is even afraid as to if the recent scholarship you granted to Kogi State University stagnated medical students can be sustained either in the remaining days of your stay in office or successive governments just as you never thought it wise to continue the ones granted to some indigent students before your coming on board.

Your excellency sir,  the number or volume of industrial actions embarked upon by trade unions in the state so far under your reign is worrisome and strange to what use to be in Kogi state in as much as no previous administration survived industrial dispute with trade unions. The implication of this is that, aside from the time wasted at home in the case of students as per tertiary institutions and delay  in provision of essential services as at when pressing and needed most as per civil servants in ministries, the strike actions has also caused epileptic administrative system in all the quarters that are affected.  Take for example, tertiary institutions in Kogi  state are still trying to meet up with their contemporaries in other states. This has future telling adverse effect on the students, a situation where students are rushed to complete a particular semester or session all in a bid to meet up and at the end of the day alot are left  ununderstood or comprehended. How therefore do we expect these students to be of economic value to where they may find themselves tomorrow when gainfully employed. These are aside other individual psychological effects of the situation on the students and their continues liability on their parents. At this point,I think vision leadership is missing. It is one thing to be a leader and it is another to be a good politician.

In the face of this hardship, one terrible step taken by your government so far is the extortion from the poor masses in disguise of increased revenue generation. Your excellency sir, premised upon the fact that our economic life is not so large, considerably sir,  proper monitoring of our tax system should have been what our focus is and not abrupt increase in what they are to remit to the state government coffers . It should have been a different thing if the government is helping to provide essential services to business owners that will in turn enable their cost of production to be low.

Aside from the hike of fuel, the increase in tax collected from public transport owners has lead to increase in transportation fare, whereas the payment of salary is not prompt or consistent.

Your excellency sir,  let me applaud you in the area of security for the steps you have taken so far in ensuring that Kogi people go to bed with their two eyes closed without worries. However sir, I am afraid , some of the measures may not be sustainable and moreover, there are issues going on currently in the state that are capable of serving as potencies for futuristic security threat to the state. For example sir, the issue of non payment of salary, compulsory retirement of civil servants who may not be able to meet up with their responsibilities to their families, poor numeration and inconsistent payment of the recruited vigilantees who are enthrusted with guns and other sophisticated weapons,  we also have the issue of epileptic academic system in the state which has placed Kogi state students below their contemporaries in other states and thus always placing them at disadvantaged level when it comes to competing in the labour market,  the shift from the cultured ways of playing politics that followed the 2015 general elections in the state which has made majority of youths venturing into politics as a fast way of making money with bias and unpurposeful political offices seeking  has turned many of Kogi youths into desperation  , I am afraid this will result into them taking part in dubius activities when a capable government with the good intention of true governance comes into place to block all leakages .

Your excellency, I want to quickly draw your attention to the very fact that aside from the revenue house built by your administration in lokoja, for the two years of your led administration we still have seemingly abandoned projects in lokoja in the state capital like the toll gates, round abouts and as well amongst others. This I do not think is good enough to be recorded for the two years spent so far sir. You really need to look critically into these projects as soon as possible.

POLITICS:

One pitiable fact is that, it is obvious after spending two years in office you are still yet to be politically secured. It doesn't speak well of you and as well as the state that even with the silence of opposition parties when it matters most in pointing out your misgivings, your differences with your Party chieftains has continued to serve as a distraction from performing your duties. There is obviously lack of party internal harmony in Kogi APC and this is totally unhealthy for any government, especially now that like never before, the people of Kogi state thought it wise even if desperately done to follow suit at the federal level to settle for a change of political party in control of the state during the 2015 general elections.

Appointment of key government officials which has been the monopoly of few individuals in your cabinet is a great political suicide.  Politics as we know for a very long time has been a game of numbers and only one person can not garner popular support for the party. Let everyone one feed from the pot they fetched firewood for.  At most, only a viable party structure can do so. Your Excellency sir! Among your sons, only Benjamin is given listening here. Joseph and the remaining ones are either left uncatered for or subjected to the highest level of intimidation with the use of the power they  fought to bring home.

Your excellency, changing the phase of politics is never a bad idea, the confronting challenge here is the wrong foundation upon which it is being built. There are instances of breakdown of touch between real party men at the grassroot and the high profiled distinguisheds at the lugard house. On this note sir, consistent steps  must be taken to have a unified house that will first and foremost put the interest of the state forward.

Your excellency sir, I will excuse your non presence in the circle of Kogi Politics prior before your emergence as the governor of Kogi State and that is why probably you seem to be shooting yourself on the leg at every outting. Your excellency, your government has been perceived by many as an affair being run by few individuals who has chosen to enslave the people of Kogi State. Your approaches towards reacting to matters of oppositions are too unserious and unlikely of someone who truly has foresight for any endeavour.

Your excellency sir, today Kogi State Image has been on the wrong records book in almost media houses and social media platforms. We are not the only one playing politics,, there are certain things that should be left unminded to but most a times we have your subordinates reacting to criticisms not only in rude manners but in such a way that reveal their obvious unwillingness to really take the business of governance serious. I do not expect any appointee not to know that their actions goes a long way in shaping the image of kogi state before the entire world. Regrettably  , even when you are not aware of the apprehention of some persons perceived enemies of the government  ,they go into using state power to compel their obedience to their will. Your excellency sir , we also have cases of threat to the lives of legal citizens of the state who seizes the opportunity of government officials present on social media to submit their opinions, grievances and complaints on certain issues. The funny thing is that these persons are not only being threatened alone but at a great extent their family members are victimised in one way or the other. Your excellency, government exist to serve the people, but then, not minding the comforts that those at the helm of affairs enjoys , attending to the plight of the masses for which purpose they exist becomes a problem, yet these are persons who are given vehicles worth millions of naira but yet majority of them are neither married nor find it necessary to impact on the lives of those around them. I am afraid your excellency that the real enemies of the state are within your cabinet. Your excellency sir, two years is gone and whatever your intention towards 2019 is,  sustaining APC in Kogi state by the virtue of your position as the leader of APC in Kogi State, it is a singular duty on you however the extent of your differences with anyone.

Your excellency sir, the decampmg ceremonies going on in all the local government areas should not deceive you that you are popular, many of the attendees are usually there to get their own part of their mobilization money. It may surprise you to know that in every local government area that you visit for decamping ceremony  , 65% percent of those who are there are not from that town, they either follow in your entourage or mobilize themselves from neighbouring local government areas just as a way of getting what it takes to pay their bills .

Your excellency  , party registration being carried out without the knowledge or consent of the state party chairman is too bad an attitude and one wonder what could be the reason for your differences with him that can not be settled.

Your excellency,  may I once again advise that the bunch of political appointees under you are more of self seeking individuals than persons who attach value to what unites members of even their immediate community, the ability to do this demands a lot of sacrifices that if ventured into will fetch collective and individual glory for the family.

In conclusion your excellency to wrap it up, your decision to set aside projects executed by your predecessor to be commisined in commeration of your 2nd year anniversary in office is seem to me as an act of insanity.  However the reason (s)  that account for this, on the part of the electorates or better still masses, it is a high level show of lack of seriousness towards the business of governance.

Remember, it is not all about you,  years to come, every say, comment or act of you is a point of reference and who knows where or when your part in history may be pointed at.

God bless You sir.

GROSS! Black Women Should Try Dating Bi-Sexual Men Popular Feminist Advise

TF? Popular feminist writer advises black women to try dating bisexual men ...
A black feminist author gave weird advise to Black women this week in a new article publiched on the website The Root titled “Why I’m Open to Dating Bisexual Men,” .

Author Kyla Jenee Lacey advised women to try dating “bisexual” men and the reason she gave is also weird. Read her piece and drop your comments ,share your ideas with us.
.[Black male] Sexual fluidity is a real thing, and men have sex with other men all the time.As black women, we contribute to the tired trope that a man who has sex with other men is somehow sullied and his masculinity ruined, and we will throw the whole man of our dreams away because he had sex with another man and has been honest about it.

There’s more:
Women will put up with [Black men with] no jobs, multiple ugly kids, multiple baby mamas, multiple other women—shit, wives even; but let him be bisexual, or sexually fluid, and it’s a complete wrap.
And she ends with this:
We have become so wrapped up in protecting toxic masculinity that we forget to protect ourselves. . . If he likes me, he likes me . . . I would simply hope that they protected themselves.
It’s insane that in 2018 controversy surrounding people’s sexuality still even exists – but it does.
Is Kyla Jenee Lacey right? Should Black women actively seek out bisexual men? Does she make a solid point about women being able to retain their femininity no matter what… surely men should be afforded the same right? Or do you think that feminists like Lacey are reaching?

Davido has revealed how big he has become since releasing his first song some years ago.

In new chat with MTV Base, the singer: “When I released the song back then, I did not know that it was going to be that big. Then I went back to school and the love that I was shown was overwhelming, let alone the way girls began to treat me. That one song with the video made my father realise that I had the talent. And then, I did the song, ‘Dami Duro’. The song became so big and I remember that the President at the time called my father to talk about me and the song". .
.
"Even during my father’s business meetings with his friends, they would mention my name and the song. Before long, I started travelling and doing shows around the world. Now I have the numbers of about 13 presidents on my phone and if I call them, they would answer the call. Then the award came and it set me on another level”

BREAKING News: Obasanjo Blasts Buhari In 13-page Statement Asking The President To Forget 2nd Term

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has penned a 13-page statement asking President Muhammadu Buhari not to run for a second term while stating all the area he has failed and performed below expectations.

Buhari & Obasanjo

In a special press statement entitled, “The Wat Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement”, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday, in a blistering and excoriating 13-page statement, called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.

According to Premium Times, Obasanjo said that Buhari has performed far below expectation and should honourably “dismount from the horse” to join the league of the country’s former leaders whose “experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country.”

Obasanjo said he feels disappointed by Buhari, whom he supported during the 2015 election over then incumbent and candidate of his former party, Goodluck Jonathan.

“Even the horse rider then, with whom I maintain very cordial, happy and social relationship today has come to realise his mistakes and regretted it publicly and I admire his courage and forthrightness in this regard,” Obasanjo said.

“He has a role to play on the side line for the good of Nigeria, Africa and humanity and I will see him as a partner in playing such a role nationally and internationally, but not as a horse rider in Nigeria again.”

Likening the state of the nation to lice-invested clothes, he said the country’s fingernails is stained with blood as it tries to kill the lice by pressing them in-between two fingernails. According to him, in other to make sure that our fingernails remains blood-free we must do what it takes rid our clothes of lice.

“The lice of poor performance in government – poverty, insecurity, poor economic management, nepotism, gross dereliction of duty, condonation of misdeed – if not outright encouragement of it, lack of progress and hope for the future, lack of national cohesion and poor management of internal political dynamics and widening inequality – are very much with us today,” he wrote.

“With such lice of general and specific poor performance and crying poverty with us, our fingers will not be dry of ‘blood’,” he added.

While thanking Buhari for the effort of his administration in rolling back the Boko Haram insurgency and his fight against corruption, Obasanjo said Buhari has ultimately failed in other areas where he had thought he would be efficient.

The octogenarian, who bagged a PhD over the weekend, admitted he knew Buhari was weak in handling the economy, he went ahead and voted for him because at the time “it was a matter of ‘any option but Jonathan’” and because he thought Mr Buhari would appoint qualified Nigerians to help out in that area.

He slammed Buhari for turning a blind eye to corruption within his government saying it amounted to condonation and cover-up saying whoever is “going to justice must be with clean hands.”

He also berated Buhari for allowing the clashes between herdsmen and farmers to go “sour” and messy saying the endorsement of the President by some governors to seek re-election barely 24 hours after 73 people who were killed by herdsmen in Benue State were given mass burial was “a sad symptom of insensitivity and callousness.”

But Obasanjo reserved his harshest words for what he described as Mr Buhari’s clannishness, lack of understanding of the dynamics of politics, and his tendencies to pass the buck of his government’s inadequacies to the immediate past administration.

He wrote: “But there are three other areas where President Buhari has come out more glaringly than most of us thought we knew about him. One is nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court. This has grave consequences on performance of his government to the detriment of the nation. It would appear that national interest was being sacrificed on the altar of nepotic interest.

"What does one make of a case like that of Maina: collusion, condonation, ineptitude, incompetence, dereliction of responsibility or kinship and friendship on the part of those who should have taken visible and deterrent disciplinary action? How many similar cases are buried, ignored or covered up and not yet in the glare of the media and the public?

“The second is his poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics. This has led to wittingly or unwittingly making the nation more divided and inequality has widened and become more pronounced. It also has effect on general national security.

“The third is passing the buck. For instance, blaming the Governor of the Central Bank for devaluation of the naira by 70% or so and blaming past governments for it, is to say the least, not accepting one’s own responsibility. Let nobody deceive us, economy feeds on politics and because our politics is depressing, our economy is even more depressing today. If things were good, President Buhari would not need to come in. He was voted to fix things that were bad and not engage in the blame game.”

Buhari and the APC do not have the answer

Obasanjo thus argued that neither Buhari nor his party, the All Progressives Congress hold the solution to the country’s problems. He suggested that Buhari was not healthy enough to withstand the rigour associated with running a country like Nigeria neither does his party capable of providing the answer needed to sail the country through its difficulties.

Obasanjo said Buhari should step down at the end of his first term with honour and dignity and attend to his health and should not listen to the his “self-serving so-called advisers who would claim that they love him more than God loves him and that without him, there would be no Nigeria say.”

“President Buhari needs a dignified and honourable dismount from the horse. He needs to have time to reflect, refurbish physically and recoup and after appropriate rest, once again, join the stock of Nigerian leaders whose experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country. His place in history is already assured. Without impaired health and strain of age, running the affairs of Nigeria is a 25/7 affair, not 24/7.

“I only appeal to brother Buhari to consider a deserved rest at this point in time and at this age. I continue to wish him robust health to enjoy his retirement from active public service. President Buhari does not necessarily need to heed my advice. But whether or not he heeds it, Nigeria needs to move on and move forward,” he said.

“I have had occasion in the past to say that the two main political parties – APC and PDP – were wobbling. I must reiterate that nothing has happened to convince me otherwise. If anything, I am reinforced in my conviction. The recent show of PDP must give grave and great concern to lovers of Nigeria.

“To claim, as has been credited to the chief kingmaker of PDP, that for procuring the Supreme Court judgement for his faction of the Party, he must dictate the tune all the way and this is indeed fraught with danger.

“If neither APC nor PDP is a worthy horse to ride to lead Nigeria at this crucial and critical time, what then do we do? Remember Farooq Kperogi, an Associate Professor at the Kennesaw State University, Georgia, United States, calls it “a cruel Hobson’s choice; it’s like a choice between six and half a dozen, between evil and evil. Any selection or deflection would be a distinction without a difference.” We cannot just sit down lamenting and wringing our hands desperately and hopelessly.

Coalition of Nigerians

Having ruled out the PDP and the ruling APC of possessing the panacea to the malaise that ails the country, Obasanjo therefore called for a movement he termed Coalition of Nigeria, which he offered to be a part of, to wrest power from the present ruling class and lead the country into the path of rebirth.

“We can collectively save ourselves from the position we find ourselves. It will not come through self-pity, fruitless complaint or protest but through constructive and positive engagement and collective action for the good of our nation and ourselves and our children and their children. We need moral re-armament and engaging togetherness of people of like-mind and goodwill to come solidly together to lift Nigeria up. This is no time for trading blames or embarking on futile argument and neither should we accept untenable excuses for non-performance.

“Let us accept that the present administration has done what it can do to the limit of its ability, aptitude and understanding. Let the administration and its political party platform agree with the rest of us that what they have done and what they are capable of doing is not good enough for us. They have given as best as they have and as best as they can give. Nigeria deserves and urgently needs better than what they have given or what we know they are capable of giving. To ask them to give more will be unrealistic and will only sentence Nigeria to a prison term of four years if not destroy it beyond the possibility of an early recovery and substantial growth.

“The development and modernization of our country and society must be anchored and sustained on dynamic Nigerian culture, enduring values and an enchanting Nigerian dream. We must have abiding faith in our country and its role and place within the comity of nations. Today, Nigeria needs all hands on deck. All hands of men and women of goodwill must be on deck. We need all hands to move our country forward.

“We need a Coalition for Nigeria, CN. Such a Movement at this juncture needs not be a political party but one to which all well-meaning Nigerians can belong. That Movement must be a coalition for democracy, good governance, social and economic well-being and progress. Coalition to salvage and redeem our country. You can count me with such a Movement.

"Last time, we asked, prayed and worked for change and God granted our request. This time, we must ask, pray and work for change with unity, security and progress. And God will again grant us. Of course, nothing should stop such a Movement from satisfying conditions for fielding candidates for elections. But if at any stage the Movement wishes to metamorphose into candidate-sponsoring Movement for elections, I will bow out of the Movement because I will continue to maintain my non-partisan position. Coalition for Nigeria must have its headquarters in Abuja.

“This Coalition for Nigeria will be a Movement that will drive Nigeria up and forward. It must have a pride of place for all Nigerians, particularly for our youth and our women. It is a coalition of hope for all Nigerians for speedy, quality and equal development, security, unity, prosperity and progress. It is a coalition to banish poverty, insecurity and despair. Our country must not be oblivious to concomitant danger around, outside and ahead. Coalition for Nigeria must be a Movement to break new ground in building a united country, a socially-cohesive and moderately prosperous society with equity, equality of opportunity, justice and a dynamic and progressive economy that is self-reliant and takes active part in global division of labour and international decision-making.

“The Movement must work out the path of development and the trajectory of development in speed, quality and equality in the short- medium- and long-term for Nigeria on the basis of sustainability, stability, predictability, credibility, security, cooperation and prosperity with diminishing inequality. What is called for is love, commitment and interest in our country, not in self, friends and kinship alone but particularly love, compassion and interest in the poor, underprivileged and downtrodden. It is our human duty and responsibility so to do. Failure to do this will amount to a sin against God and a crime against humanity.”

Richest football teams in the world: 14 Premier League clubs make the cut

Manchester United have edged out Real Madrid as the highest-earning football club in the world.

United generated £581 million in total revenue, according to Deloitte's 2018 Football Money League.

Valuable Prem television rights pushed the Red Devils to the top of the table, after the first year of the record £8.4bn TV deal for 2016-2019.

The Premier League makes so much money from its multibillion-pound sales of television rights, tickets and commercial income that 14 of its clubs are in the highest-earning 30 in the world.

Real Madrid leapfrogged Barcelona and Bayern Munich rounded out the top four - but from there on the rankings are decidedly English.

The Premiership clubs’ dominance reflects their significantly increased broadcast earnings which are vastly greater than those of competing European leagues.

Germany's Bundesliga is the nearest financial competitor, whose clubs’ average attendances were significantly higher in the 2016/17 season but makes far less from TV rights sales.

The new four-year Bundesliga TV deals from this season amount to €4.64bn, an 85 per cent increase on the previous deal but far below those of the Premier League.

Crackdown

Player salaries in the Premier League are also increasing at a rate beyond their counterparts in the other Big Five leagues.

Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin announced today plans to curb the financial excesses of Europe's super clubs.

Rules discussed will include a "luxury tax" to prevent the world's richest clubs from monopolising the best players, clubs would be fined for exceeding a salary cap.

Ceferin has cited PSG's activity last summer, signing Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, and an inflated Premier League January window in efforts to restore the "competitive balance" of European football.

He told the Daily Telegraph: "I'm fed up of politicians saying 'Do something for competitive balance,' and then, when you speak to Brussels, they say 'Ah, everything is forbidden by the EU law.'

"We have some sporting measures we can establish without politicians. We can do luxury tax, we can limit the loans, we can limit the number of registered players."

Seven of the best photos as Alexis Sanchez seals Man Utd move

Alexis Sanchez has completed his move from Arsenal to Manchester United with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction.

After the finishing touches to the deal were made on monday, we take a look at some of the best pics as he completed his move to Old Trafford.

All smiles from Sanchez

Reports indicated that Arsenal wanted £35million for a player out of contract in the summer and United’s willingness to meet Sanchez’s wage demands and use a makeweight in Mkhitaryan, who is valued at the Gunners’ asking price, allowed a straight swap to take place.

Signing on the dotted line

Sanchez signed a four-and-a-half year deal at United with reports suggesting that the 29-year-old will earn a staggering £500,000 a week.

A proven goalscorer

He scored 24 goals for Arsenal last season but hasn’t been quite as effective this campaign – only hitting the net seven times in 19 league appearances.

Parting gift

Sanchez left a cheeky parting Instagram message that seemed to take aim at ex-Arsenal players:

“There are people (former club players) who have spoken with no knowledge of what happens inside the club and cause damage.

“I must say I always gave 100%, until the last day, when I asked to the Mister (Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger) to be in the team, because I wanted to be a contribution.”

Dream come true

On joining Manchester United, Sanchez told the club’s official website: “Since I was a young lad I’ve always said that my dream was to play for Manchester United, and I’m not just saying that because I’m here now and today it’s come true.”

Lucky number seven

The Chilean will wear the number 7 shirt at United and will follow in the footsteps of Old Trafford greats such as George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, who also wore the famous jersey.

One last club?

Sanchez’s professional football career started out at Chilean side Cobreloa before getting his move to Europe with Serie A side Udinese – where he spent time on loan at Colo-Colo and River Plate. Successful spells at giants Barcelona and Arsenal followed before his latest transfer to the Red Devils.

JARAH GIST FORUM

Remember how the brain boxes in the jarah gist forum trashed out our last topic?
Yes they did it again. A very sensitive question was thrown at them and here is what they had to say.

Going back to your ex or starting a new relationship which do you prefer and why?

For me am not Really a Relationship guy oh Madam Jovial but I feel what's in the past should remain in the past,if he is your ex I think something made him that A misunderstanding and you guys had too take a break,So I think starting a new relationship is better than going back to your ex because any way u look at it No matter the plea from him He would always make mistake the same mistake so no matter what I think its best you start up with someone you know nothing about and hopefully you guys work out something together🤗

EGHOSA

There are stages of a relationship and starting a fresh one for me is like just going round and round.

Jack Otong'o

Depends on what actually led to the breakup. When it's not worth it, go back to your ex. Especially when the person is loyal. Dude, loyal partners ain't regular.

*King David*

Well for me I think starting a fresh is better, because you had reasons why that person was an ex, and if you couldn't manage when you were together and broke up,  why do you think going back will be a good idea. But starting a fresh you learnt you lessons, and now you know to thread... DON'T BE AFRAID TO ALWAYS START AFRESH.... FEAR IS A BONDAGE....

King James 👑

I've realized that breakups often cause both parties to learn something from the relationship, just like when a man cheats and then his partner breaks the whole relationship off, it dawns on him how wrongly he has done, and vice versa too
This is it, a new relationship doesn't determine a blissful union, neither does an old one, the joy of jumping into a new relationship alone can seem u cheap and dampen the affair,
I will us this, what makes a relationship perfect is when she/he knows what they want and need' and also putting into consideration what the other person want or need to,
When this is gotten, you give yourself a solid reason for still holding on to that person or nor,
We have seen tons of breakups that still lead to a perfect marriage, cause mistakes doesn't define the union, they only learn from them,
So dearie, going back or getting into a new relationship its not the issue, its not an option u select from, if it is then its like selecting between Volkswagen and Benz

Rather, its a conscious act of knowing who u wanna be with and that could be anybody

*VEEJAY*

I prefer starting a new relationship. Let’s face it, stepping into an old relationship is like going back to a job you quit. The truth is something was wrong the last time. It had to be. You don’t break up for no reason. Magic won’t help you now. The past is the past, and most of the time you can’t get it back. The longer you toy with this not so brilliant idea of getting into something you shouldn’t (AGAIN), the more baggage you are acquiring. A fresh start will help you go forward. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.

JARAH GIST FORUM

Hello. Welcome to another intriguing time with us here at Jarah Gist Forum, a platform were you can share your ideas with others.
We had a nice time airing our views yesterday on the topic:

BEING INTIMATE WITH YOUR PARTNER IN PUBLIC, RIGHT OR WRONG?

Well I'm not the shy type
I'm actually a very crazy guy but
I don't think it's Necessary
Like I won't do it
I actually care about what goes around people's head at the moment and that's just the kindda person I am.

Chase

It is morally wrong to be intimate with ur  partner in public because people will be watching including kids....what are u then teaching the young ones

Oracle

Its all fun n games until some bad belle will make it a life goal to break y'all up

Czar

Most gals actually see that as something big
I don't even hug in public
God may be watching you in private but you want the angels and saints to see what God has been watching?
Am I making sense somebody?

Chase

When i was young i saw alot of that; those dating couples they are like stop there's a kid here but not knowing they are even learning compare to the ones have been watching in america films😄...  People watching you hugging your partner and pergs means noting; but some kind of public place it depends immorally/morally is trips a sign of affection but i think  is more cool in a more matured looking minded people not inspite of kids......

Increase

I agree with u a little...Doing that in public does not only affects d kids watching it might also affect adults as well....Now think about it this way how about some women who are suffering Emotionally i.e those their husbands have no time for due to their type of work especially those that work in sea How do u want that kind of woman to feel?

Same goes for those guyz who are scared of talking to the opposite sex...seeing that in public may arouse thier sexual desire which sometimes some are not able to control thereby leading to rape especially minors

Oracle

So seeing people kiss turns you on??

Chase

Brother mine, Don't make it sound so scandalous, so kissing turns some people on its not like they kill kittens for a living

February

I love my lover. I don't care if it turns you on. #FreePorn. I don't care about what the children nearby may come off learning from it. Don't they go to weddings? I love my lover and do not hide it.

Osita Chinakwe

So does a person who own a car decide not to drive it around because he doesn't want to hurt the feelings of those who are yet to get one. I believe there's a degree to which show of affections in public has its limit. But it cannot be totally ruled out.

Favour

And u think public showing is the best.....we know u love ur lover Y not go on a private trips.
Nobody is ruling it out...How can u be comparing a car with ur lover

Oracle

A man is held responsible for his behavior : his unhealthy attachment to minors, his being single.
And the woman who cries because of witnessing a public display of affection (PDA) will be sad always then. Her neighbours will not stop being loving because of her.

I may feel like doing it publicly. Not simply to show that I have courage to do so. But because I can't do without kissing her lips for long.

Osita Chinakwe

Aiit
Girls naturally like
guys that drive.
Me am not a driver
My ex told me...
Buh it's not part of the topic

Seriously I'm not supposed to be here
Yall are too serious minded
😁😁

Chase

What about i don't like private trip or my partner don't do private shits..

Increase

Then u have to explain Y u love it in public....

Oracle

Smiles.. To me it's not right.
In many ways, it's about control. Intimacy is one of our basest instincts. Control that and you can control the population. We've been taught to feel shame and find it dirty because that's what the society is determined to correct. It has a negative effect on kids and they would love to start practising it.

Yahaya Halima

The way people are constructing grammar i won't mind kissing my girl in public after reading this

Chase

Hmmmm,  and they have never skip "you may kiss your Bride' in front of kids ...  You guys should stop using kids to cover some certain stuff like this

Increase

Yeah some no Sabi kiss seff
There are ways foreigners kiss in public
Bro
To kiss go just dey hungry you

Chase

First of all.
Let's check the authenticity of the relationship

She said PARTNERS, so let's look at it from 2 angles
A married couple is out there 'MAKING OUT' their maturity level should tell u they wont engage in something that's gonna be new than what kids see on TV no matter how hot that romance can produce.. U get me?
Now for 'OUR GENERATION' kind of couples (relationships especially not marriage) ... Know that they can go the extreme only wen they feel there's a need to SHOW OFF what they feel about each other that can't control ... How do I know
There's a flock of bf/gf's in the ICM, all entangled and loveydovey up, now even The shy ladies 'AT THAT TIME ONLY' would allow the wet lips of their dudes rest on the yearning lips of theirs... U get me ?...and if u say there's a child close ??.... Oh please... 'IF OUR GENERATION IS THIS HOT... HOW MUCH MORE THE ONE COMING... 🤦🏿‍♀U KNOW THE REST'

Now let's check the timing of this romance that comes up...

Making out in public is not a conscious act...

2 scenarios I can give you...
1. You about to cash out 5k from yr bank yr babe wants 10k... Now for that goal to be achieved she could kiss u, give u small tangerine romance right there n then weh go scatter yah head... U sef go loose guard... Lol
Now that's sweet and u guys didn't act it..  U get me ?

2. U stare at a ladies bumbum while in d mall, yr babe doesn't see u, and then u look at yr babe again, and sees how beautiful she is even tho she ain't got that big an ass u just saw....

U could get closer to her bro, kiss her, tap her bum, and whisper to her I wouldn't exchange u for even Beyonce (now this leads to a romance ☺🤤😍)

Lemme stop here....
In conclusion...
Be sure of how much u are really gonna hold her down whom u be with, when u do, and u know u ain't taking a slut for shopping ... Ladies n gents...
Even there where u kiss, people who understands love can tell that this couple ? They really do love each other from the bottom...
That's not corruption, Thats Care, Love, Joy Of Ownership...

Pleas niggas try tapping her bum, its a sweet feeling😎😋

VEEJAY

I feel kissing ur partner in public is not bad..nobody cares..first of all..kids nowadays bcom bad..nobody knows how..1 way or d oda..they get to know alot about sexual contents...altho We r in a society were its seen as copy copy frm whites🤣...bt nobody actually cares..no mata d correction..pipo still rape..n do all evil

Jon Kent

I believe they're are "types of kisses" that are acceptable in public. People who are intimate in public should be really connected and have a future together. We don't want to be seeing young couples kissing everywhere when it's not a telenovela serie. There's a limit to everything. And besides this intimacy thingy cannot be more than a kiss except people with fairly damaged brains have sex in public.

Sean

Looking at it from a different perspective. I think its romantic for married couples and its a thing to be ashamed of for lovers(not married).

Yahaya Halima

Well at night if m with my girl
I'd deep my hands in her bra ND fold up
Tbh that's the highest sin I can commit in public
Nobody saw me

Chase

Yea.. For married couple but we are in Nigerian they would never try it on public's all have ever growup to meet,  and i wonder🤔,  they produce kids regularly every 9months without breaks🙆‍♂!!   And the mans face we look like there's noting happening within them

Increase

I wonder how they do it
Maybe the wife would be reading magazine
Or the hubby would cover her face with pillow
That's why most of them don't live long..
